Our Private Florida Keys Shelling/Snorkeling tours take you to some of the best spots in the region, where you’ll search in the water for beautiful seashells, including the sought-after Florida Queen Conch, Milk Conch, Hawks Wing, Sea biscuits, and more. As passionate nature and ocean lovers, we follow sustainable practices, only collecting unoccupied seashells – no live shelling – ensuring the preservation of marine life. The primary focus is exploring the diverse marine life that makes the Florida Keys so special.

Our Key tours depart from Summerland Key, FL conveniently located between Marathon and Key West. Exact address will be disclosed in conformation email upon booking. We also offer pickup from the Duck Key Boat Ramp in Little Duck Key, located just 15 minutes from Summerland Key.

While our tours are primarily snorkeling-focused, we offer private tours that can be customized to fit your interests. If you prefer to sightsee, visit a secluded sandbar, or even enjoy a dolphin-watching adventure, we can adjust the itinerary to suit your preferences.

Choose from a 4-8 hour tour designed around your schedule and desires, with plenty of flexibility to explore the best of the Florida Keys, above and below the water.

Tour Requirements

We want you to have the best experience possible. Please review the following to ensure our tour is a good fit as safety is top priority:

Physical Condition: Participants should be in good health and capable of using a 3-step ladder at the stern of the boat to get in and out of the water. (Please note: If your skill level or condition falls out of the tour requirements, we can still accommodate via a private tour. Example: Shallow water shelling, sightseeing, dolphin watching, or dining at a restaurant by water. We will tailor the tour to your specific needs or requests.)
Swimming Skills: Average to strong swimming skills are necessary; snorkeling will take place in water approximately 2 feet to 8 feet deep, with free diving for shell retrieval. Water conditions may vary, including moderate to strong currents, and potential choppy seas.
Snorkeling Knowledge: Basic understanding of snorkeling techniques and equipment is essential.
Equipment Responsibility: We recommend bringing your own snorkeling gear, though we have spare equipment in case of emergency. Dive flags and life jackets are provided.
Liability Release: All participants must sign a liability release.
Age Requirement: Participants must be at least 18 years old, unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

While a shell may appear empty of its original mollusk, in some areas, larger shells are often repurposed by reef fish and other marine life—sometimes used as shelter or nesting sites for eggs. We always strive to be mindful and respectful of nature’s clever reuse of these seashells, ensuring our guests leave a minimal impact.
Explore the Underwater World: The Lower Keys are home to diverse marine life, including colorful schools of tropical fish, coral reefs, and unique underwater habitats. Our snorkeling tours let you explore this stunning underwater world up close, guided by our knowledgeable and friendly crew.

For your comfort and safety, we recommend bringing essentials like reef-safe sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, snorkeling gear, and food. We do provide waters, Ice, first aid, life jackets, and spare gear. Suggested clothing and additional items to bring will be detailed in your confirmation email upon booking.
